Africa Urban Lab

In designing the Africa Urban Lab logo, I researched the environment, Fumba Town in Zanzibar, and similar labs that exist within University systems. Using the blue from the African School of Economic's logo, the parent school, I added a vibrant yellow as an accent color. Set on the coast of the Indian Ocean, I pulled from the tropical vistas I found when visiting there.

My goal was to highlight the research lab as a hub of innovation, and spark curiosity about this school on the island of Zanzibar. As an anchor tenant to the newly developed city, Fumba Town, I wanted a fresh and modern logo to showcase the school and staff. Completed at Charter Cities Institute.
